steak n shrimp stir fry
Ingredients:
-Your choice of steak
-Peeled and deveined shrimp (tail off would be best)
-Broccoli
-Bell pepper
-White onion
-Carrot
-Minced garlic
-1 Cup of Jasmine rice
- 2 Cups of water
Seasonings include:
-Salt
-Pepper
-Garlic powder
-Onion powder
-Ground ginger
Marinade:
-1 Tbsp cornstarch
-2 Tbsp soy sauce (coconut aminos is a great substitute)
For a sprinkle of fun, garnish with:
-Green onion
-Sesame seed
-Soy sauce
Directions:
Prepare the steak into bite size pieces along with the shrimp. Prepare marinade, toss meat into marinade to absorb flavor for at least 20 minutes. (The longer it sits the better the flavor.) While marinade is locking in that flavor, prepare vegetables. Set vegetables aside once prepped. Turn grill/smoker on to allow to come to a temperature of 400°F. We cooked both steak and shrimp for about 20 minutes. Steak was cooked until a temp of 145°F and shrimp until pink and opaque. While the meat was grilling. I prepared my cast iron with avocado oil and butter. I first minced my garlic and prepared onion. I then added the remaining vegetables. I sautéed until they were tender. Prepare rice on stovetop. Once everything is all done it can all be tossed together, served over the bed of rice.
**This all can be done on a stove top as well or in a wok.**
***Allow time to marinate steak and shrimp about 20 minutes. ***
